Focused Care Activity Program

Residents residing in Focused Care may participate in the Assisted Living, the Meadow Wing, or the Focused Care activity programs, depending on their activity needs and level of ability.

The Focused Care Activity Program focuses on enriching the mind, body, and spirit of residents in the later stages of dementia and other memory impairments. An emphasis is placed on providing sensory and reminiscence activities in a supportive and comfortable environment.  Residents enjoy sitting in gliding chairs and participating in activities specially designed to meet their unique needs. Stimulating the senses, reminiscing through stories, photos, and discussions, gentle exercising, and enjoying musical programming are just a few of the activities offered in this program as a means of maintaining a meaningful quality of life.

The Focused Care Activity Program is a unique option for residents who need the highest level of support in activities.  A full-time activity staff member conducts the activities in a caring and engaging manner, often working with residents individually or in a very small group.  The program provides meaningful and adapted activities that all residents can participate, enjoy, and benefit.  The goal is to maintain a meaningful quality of life and to provide residents with social engagement throughout their day.
